Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf arrived in Baghdad on Wednesday morning and commenced his first round of meetings at the Iraqi Parliament.

The First Deputy Speaker of the Parliament, Adnan Faihan, welcomed Ghalibaf and his accompanying delegation at Baghdad International Airport 

Following the meeting, the Iranian delegation is scheduled to meet with the Iraqi President, the Prime Minister, and other prominent political leaders to finalize several joint portfolios.

According to the Iranian media, during his meeting with Iraqi parliamentary officials, they discussed political and parliamentary files between the two countries. 

The primary objective of the visit is to assess the level of coordination between Baghdad and Tehran in light of regional developments.
