Approximately 30,000 additional banking cards will be delivered to public banks over the next two days.

According to official data released by the MyAccount project team, only 3% of the total public sector workforce has yet to complete the enrollment form. 

Officials confirmed the registration process will remain open until all remaining salaried employees are successfully registered. 

Meanwhile, The Kurdistan Regional Government’s Minister of Education stated during a press conference today that any teacher or employee who does not open a bank account is harming themselves.

MyAccount is the Kurdistan Regional Government's official digital payroll initiative, launched in February 2023, to transition public sector workers from cash salary envelopes into a formalized banking system.

More than 950,000 public sector beneficiaries have successfully registered for bank accounts through the program.

The decision to end cash disbursements is part of a coordinated agreement between the KRG Ministry of Finance and the Federal Ministry of Finance to transition the entire public sector workforce to a digital banking system. 

Despite the suspension of cash payments after August 31, officials confirmed that employees' financial entitlements will not be forfeited, noting that salaries will be fully restored once individuals complete the MyAccount form and collect their cards from public banks.
