The meeting brought together senior Iraqi and Kurdistan Region military and security officials as part of efforts to advance coordination between the Iraqi Security Forces and Peshmerga Forces.

The meeting was attended by General Abdul-Amir al-Shammari, Director of the Military Special Office of the Commander-in-Chief of the Iraqi Armed Forces; Lieutenant General Issa Ozair, Chief of Staff of the Ministry of Peshmerga; the Head of the Iraqi Counter-Terrorism Service; the Head of the Border Crossings Authority; and the Head of Intelligence at the Iraqi Ministry of Interior.

Participants reviewed the security situation in areas of mutual interest between the Peshmerga and Iraqi Security Forces, where joint brigades are deployed. They stressed the need for greater coordination with these brigades to strengthen their capacity to maintain security in those areas.

Border security was also discussed, including joint protection of the borders by Border Guards and Peshmerga forces.

The two sides further discussed developing programs and agendas for joint military drills and training courses to strengthen cooperation and coordination.
