PUK, Taqadum Party stress cooperation between KRI and Baghdad

A top-level delegation from the Political Bureau of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) received Mohammed Halbusi, the leader of the Taqadum Party, along with his delegation in Sulaymaniyah.

During the meeting, the parties delved into the overall situation in both the Kurdistan Region and Iraq, highlighting the importance of maintaining constructive dialogue among political factions to tackle existing challenges, according to the statement of the Political Bureau of the PUK.

The statement says there was “a strong emphasis on fostering coordination, cooperation, and mutual understanding between the Kurdistan Region and Baghdad” to seek constitutional and legal resolutions to the ongoing issues, ultimately safeguarding shared interests for enhanced stability in the nation.

Key points of discussion included the administration of Kirkuk, the need to streamline legal processes, and the formation of the local government in Kirkuk, stressing the necessity of resolving obstacles to ensure that all efforts serve Kirkuk and its diverse communities.

The PUK Political Bureau underscored the significance of establishing a genuine partnership and collaborative effort among all winning parties in Kirkuk, aiming to uphold the values of unity and coexistence.

Furthermore, the meeting explored avenues for enhancing relations and cooperation between the two parties, with a particular emphasis on fostering joint efforts and continual coordination between the PUK and the Taqadum Party.
