Destroyed Erbil warehouse results in loss of $10 million

A warehouse that collapsed in a fire in Erbil’s industrial zone on Saturday afternoon caused a loss of $10 million.

Ibrahim Khadir, the owner of the burnt-out warehouse that contained construction materials, said nothing was recovered from the destroyed building, and the result was $10 million in property damages.

A fire broke out in the industrial area of northern Erbil on Saturday afternoon, a reporter for Channel8 said.

“A warehouse of construction materials caught fire near the cemetery of Sheikh Ahmad in Erbil,” the reporter said.

“The fire was brought under control after some efforts by rescue teams,” the Channel8 reporter said.
