Three people were killed and another was injured in a mine explosion at the border guard headquarters in Erbil.

The Border Zone One Command said in a statement that the blast occurred while clearing a mine area near the command’s headquarters.

“The mines, remnants from the Iraq-Iran war, had been previously removed from border areas,” the command added.
