US sees surge in Iraqi oil Imports, Canada tops supplier list

The US Energy Information Administration (EIA) disclosed a significant uptick in Iraq’s oil exports to the United States, with a surge of 510,000 barrels per day recorded last week.

As per the latest weekly petroleum status report by EIA, the US witnessed a rise in crude oil imports from eight primary exporters, averaging 5.201 million bpd, marking an increase of approximately 510,000 bpd from the previous week’s 4.691 million bpd.

Iraq’s oil exports to the US escalated to 252,000 bpd, showing a notable increase of 159,000 bpd compared to the 93,000 bpd reported in the preceding week.

While Canada remained the leading contributor to US crude oil imports at 3.735 million bpd, Mexico followed with 353,000 bpd, and Colombia with 289,000 bpd.

Significant suppliers included Saudi Arabia (254,000 bpd), Ecuador (147,000 bpd), Brazil (114,000 bpd), and Nigeria (57,000 bpd).

No crude oil imports from Libya and Russia were reported by the EIA for the same week.
