Iraq establishes National Disaster Center to respond to emergencies

The Iraqi Interior Ministry has set up a dedicated crisis unit to handle floods and natural disasters within the country.

Led by Interior Minister Abdul Amir Shammari, the High Committee for Civil Defense convened to address the prevalent situation in flood-affected provinces.

During the meeting, which saw the participation of governors via video conference, a decision was made to form a crisis committee specifically focused on floods and disasters.

Emphasizing the importance of readiness in all provinces, the Iraqi Interior Minister highlighted the significance of the newly established National Disaster Center in effectively managing and responding to emergencies and crises.
