Bashmakh border crossing trade surges by 59% in 2023

Farid Haqpana, Director of the Bashmakh border crossing, said that 1,163,000 tons of goods were exchanged through the crossing in 2023, marking a 34% increase in weight compared to 2022.

Haqpana said that in 2023, the total volume of goods imported and exported through the crossing amounted to 1,163,000 tons, with a value exceeding $703 million.

“Trade activities at the Bashmakh border crossing increased by 59% in 2023 compared to 2022,” he said.

Regarding tourists, he mentioned that in 2023, 1.2 million tourists passed through the border crossing, marking a 42% increase compared to 2022.

The director said that Bashmakh border crossing has now become the third busiest Iranian border crossing for trade, following Shahid Rajai in Bandar Abbas and Parwezkhan in Qasr Shirin.
