Iraq’s IHEC to draw Kurdistan election ballot numbers on April 6: spox

Spokesperson for the Iraqi Independent High Electoral Commission Jumana Ghalai said on Monday that the draw to determine the number of lists and candidates for the Kurdistan parliamentary election will be conducted on April 6.

Ghalai told Channel8 that the commission remains committed to the timetable for preparations for the Kurdistan parliamentary elections.

“The commission continues its work in a transparent and impartial manner,” she said, adding that two coalitions, 10 parties and 54 independent candidates have registered with the commission.

“We will conduct the draw for the number of lists and candidates on April 6.”

The Kurdistan parliamentary election is set to take place on June 10th.
