Turkish Interior Minister: 340 Arrested in anti-PKK sweep across multiple cities

Turkey’s Interior Minister, Ali Yerlikaya, revealed on Wednesday the arrest of 340 individuals in cities like Van, Şırnak, Diyarbakır, Batman, Urfa, Istanbul, and Ankara.

The arrests came after accusations of unlawful activities linked to the PKK, including road blockades, arson, assaults on security personnel, and chanting pro-PKK slogans.

The crackdown followed demonstrations supporting newly elected Van Mayor Abdullah Zeydan, leading to clashes between protesters and security forces in various North Kurdistan and Turkish cities.
