The spokesperson for the Iraqi Ministry of Planning emphasized the pressing need to prioritize the housing crisis by constructing housing communities across all provinces equipped with essential amenities.

According to Planning Ministry spokesperson AbdulZahra Hindwi, “Iraq is facing a housing shortage requiring over one million new housing units to tackle the issue effectively.”

Hindwi outlined the Ministry’s strategy to establish housing communities throughout the country, acknowledging that while these initiatives may not completely resolve the problem, they will certainly help alleviate the housing shortage.

The Iraqi government plans to construct approximately 300,000 subsidized housing units specifically aimed at supporting underprivileged individuals in society.
