Turkey and Iraq sign 26 deals and memoranda of understanding

According to Yeni Şafak, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Iraqi officials signed a total of 26 agreements and memoranda of understanding, affirming their commitment to enhance bilateral relations and cooperation.

During his visit, Erdogan engaged in discussions on various crucial topics with Iraqi leaders, including counter-terrorism measures and regional affairs. Talking about the significance of these agreements, Erdogan highlighted, “This marks a new era of collaboration between our nations.”

Among the key deals signed were a framework agreement on water policy cooperation and a memorandum of understanding on a strategic framework, emphasizing the mutual commitment to addressing shared challenges and pursuing common goals. Erdogan, expressing optimism about the future collaboration, stated, “These agreements signify our joint efforts towards building a stronger partnership.”

Furthermore, agreements were reached in various sectors, including media and communications, defense industries, employment, and social security. Notably, collaborative initiatives were also established in fields such as education, tourism, energy, security cooperation, military training, health, and sports.

Highlighting the importance of these partnerships, a spokesperson from the Communications Directorate stated, “These agreements lay the foundation for fruitful exchanges and advancements in key areas that benefit both Turkey and Iraq.”

Through these agreements, both countries aim to strengthen their ties and work together towards mutual prosperity and security.
