According to Erbil Governor Omid Khoshnaw, “Three civil defense employees were injured in the fire at the Qaiser market. The incident is under investigation, and the prime minister is deeply concerned about recent fires.”
Khoshnaw expressed gratitude towards the various forces and individuals involved in controlling the fire.
However, he noted that the spread of the fire was exacerbated by shop owners who failed to close their shops properly.
He emphasized the need for citizens to cooperate during such incidents but highlighted obstacles posed by shopkeepers and onlookers who hindered the response efforts.
The governor also criticized media coverage for creating unnecessary crowds that impeded the work of civil defense teams.
