KRG PM Barzani heads for World Governments Summit in Dubai

Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Prime Minister Masrour Barzani left on Sunday at the head of a delegation headed for the UAE to attend the World Governments Summit to be held in Dubai from February 12-14.

The Prime Minister will attend the summit at the special invitation of UAE Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al-Maktoum.

Barzani is expected to deliver a speech at the summit in the presence of a number of world leaders, prime ministers and senior officials.

He will also hold several meetings with Arab, regional and international officials, thinkers and entrepreneurs on the sidelines of the summit.

Turkey, India and Qatar are guests of honor this year at the summit.

Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan, India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim al-Thani will attend the summit.

Twenty-five heads of state are expected to attend the summit with more than 200 prominent speakers.

According to a press release, the forum will focus on six themes: “government acceleration and transformation, artificial intelligence and the next frontiers, reimagining development and future economies, future societies and education, sustainability and the new global shifts, and urbanisation and global health priorities.”
