Special security forces in Sulaymaniyah demolish Ozeri’s fortress-like residence

As of February 12, 2024, following a ruling by the judge in Sulaimaniyah, security forces took control of the possessions belonging to a Peshmerga officer who was on the run. This action occurred in the Kalawanan region located in the northwestern part of Sulaimani.

A judge has ordered the Sulaymaniyah Security Directorate to arrest Derin Ahmed Mohammed, also known as Kwekha Derin Ozeri, according to a letter received by the 70th forces that Channel8 has reviewed.

Security forces have used demolition vehicles to destroy Derin Ahmed’s fortress-like residence.

Derin Ahmed was a captain in the 70th Peshmerga forces and fled the ranks on February 12.

According to an official statement released by the Kurdistan Regional Security Agency, it was revealed that Ahmad Kamil Faqe was shot and injured as a result of orders given by Derin Ahmad, alias Kwekha Derin Ozeri. The investigation led to the arrest of the primary suspect, Ahmad Abdul Razzaq Ali, who confessed to the crime under Article 405 of the Iraqi Penal Code.

Further investigation shed light on another individual involved in the incident. Omid Kamal, a fellow Peshmerga soldier, was identified as an accomplice of Kwekha Derin. The evidence suggests that the crime was committed on the orders of Derin Ahmad.

Following meticulous inquiries by the authorities, Omid Kamal was apprehended on February 5, 2024, to ensure all responsible parties were held accountable for their actions.
