Bafel Jalal Talabani, the President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), conveyed a stern message to his party officials, cautioning them against misusing their positions.

He unequivocally stated that any individual found guilty of such transgressions will face severe consequences.

According to an official letter issued on August 15, 2022, Talabani emphasized that party officials, government representatives, and military personnel must not exploit their titles or leverage their responsibilities for personal gain.

Additionally, he stressed the importance of refraining from exerting undue pressure on government employees and institutions.

The letter explicitly mentions that any violations committed by PUK officials, regardless of their position within the party hierarchy, will be subject to a fair legal process and ultimately result in severe punishments, by the internal regulations of the PUK.

Talabani also called for other political parties to adopt a similar stance, asserting his expectation that they too will prioritize ethical behavior and discourage their members from exploiting their roles for personal benefit.
