Urmia-Ankara railway line set to open soon: governor

The governor of Urmia province, Muhammed Sadiq Mutamadian, said that the opening of the Tehran-Khoi-Ankara railway line is one of the priorities of the province.

He said that the railway line will be opened soon to enhance tourism between Turkey and the province.

He further added that a joint commission between Turkey and Urmia will be established soon, aiming to bolster and advance trade relations between the two countries.

Mutamadian said that the Khoy-Urmia-Konya railway line stands as one of the most crucial tourism routes connecting Turkey and Iran and that the Khoy-Ankara railway line, inactive for five years, is slated for reopening following Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi’s visit to Turkey.
