Turkish counter-terrorism forces have detained an Islamic State (ISIS) suspect who was working at a nuclear power plant in the south of Turkey, local media said on Tuesday.

The suspect, a Russian national, was employed at Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant in Mersin using fake identity papers, Hurriyet Daily News said, referencing several reports.

The suspect has been brought before court and awaits trial.

The power plant was built by Russia’s Rosatom at a cost of $20 billion and is expected to begin generating electricity next year.

Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya said last week that 147 people were arrested across the country over alleged ties to ISIS.
