Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan made his first visit to Egypt in more than ten years on Wednesday where he met with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi.

Erdogan has said the leaders’ talks will focus on the Israel-Hamas war.

Turkey said this month it will issue armed drones to Egypt and the countries exchanged ambassadors last year.

Egypt and Turkey have had poor relations ever since the military coup in Egypt in 2013, when Sisi, then the leader of the country’s military, ousted the Muslim Brotherhood’s Mohamed Mursi.
