Masrour Barzani meets with key US officials in Washington

Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Prime Minister, Masrour Barzani, held a series of meetings in Washington with three US officials to discuss various important topics concerning the Kurdistan Region.

The main focus of the discussions revolved around the communities, the oil and energy sector of the region, and the current situation in Sinjar.

Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Prime Minister Masrour Barzani has met with US Assistant Secretary of State for Middle East Affairs Barbara Leaf and Deputy Secretary of State for Civil Security and Democracy Affairs, and Human Rights Ezra Zia, and Geoffrey Piatt, Assistant Secretary of State for Energy Resources in Washington.

The meetings discussed the development of bilateral relations, protection of the rights of communities, the development of a culture of peaceful coexistence, religious freedom and the normalization of the situation in Sinjar.

They also discussed the resumption of oil exports and the development of the energy sector in the region.
