Italian FM calls for immediate ceasefire in Gaza

Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani called for an urgent ceasefire in Gaza and urged Israel to safeguard the Palestinian population following a deadly confrontation with an aid convoy.

Tajani emphasized the need for swift action to address the tragic deaths and facilitate humanitarian assistance, the release of hostages, and the protection of civilians.

He also called on Israel to thoroughly investigate the incident and establish accountabilities.

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni expressed deep concern over the violence and called for a prompt clarification of the events and responsibilities surrounding the incident.
