The highest temperatures are forecast in Wasit, Najaf, Maysan, Dhi Qar, Muthanna, and Basra.
Baghdad, Karbala, Babylon, and Diwaniyah are expected to reach 49°C, while temperatures are forecast at 48°C in Diyala, 47°C in Salah Al-Din, and 46°C in Anbar.
Temperatures will be lower across northern Iraq and the Kurdistan Region.
Slemani is forecast to record 39°C, making it the coolest governorate in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region.
Duhok is expected to reach 40°C, while Erbil is forecast at 42°C. Kirkuk is expected to record 45°C and Nineveh 44°C.
The Meteorological Organization said clear skies are expected across most parts of Iraq from Wednesday through next Saturday.
No significant changes in temperature patterns are expected during the forecast period.
