Oil Minister al-Abadi chaired a ministerial crisis cell meeting Tuesday to discuss national oil production, export operations, and the supply of petroleum derivatives.

The meeting was attended by the ministry's undersecretaries, advisors, and directors general representing its various corporate entities and departments.

The minister ordered relevant directors general to closely monitor consumer demand and ensure a stable, uninterrupted supply of gasoline to the public.

He underlined that no future fuel shortages or distribution disruptions will be tolerated.

The increase comes amid ongoing shipping disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz. To mitigate these maritime vulnerabilities, Baghdad is developing two strategic pipeline routes linking Basra to Peshkhabour near the Turkish border and westward to Syria's port of Baniyas.

The KRG and Baghdad are also operating under an oil export mechanism that has successfully resumed crude flows via the Kurdistan Region to Ceyhan and global markets.

Concurrently, the Ministry of Oil is prioritizing an integrated strategy to modernize national refineries, maximize gas investment, and significantly minimize associated gas flaring. 

These continuous infrastructural and production enhancements have successfully driven domestic fuel distribution capacities to 31 million liters of petroleum products daily. 

The country is currently facing a gasoline shortage driven by regional shipping disruptions, which has delayed fuel imports and triggered nationwide panic buying at gas stations.
