Iraq reaffirms support for Palestine amidst ongoing Gaza crisis

On Tuesday, Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani reiterated Iraq’s unwavering support for the Palestinian cause.

According to a statement from the Prime Minister’s media office, al-Sudani received Nabil Abu Rudeineh, the official spokesman for the Palestinian Presidency, along with the Palestinian Ambassador to Iraq.

Abu Rudeineh delivered a message from Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, expressing deep gratitude to Iraq for its continuous support and aid to Gaza residents amidst severe violations by occupying forces.

Al-Sudani emphasized Iraq’s steadfast stance in supporting the Palestinian struggle for independence, freedom, and the establishment of an independent state with Jerusalem as its capital. He called for urgent Arab and Islamic efforts to end the brutal aggression against Gaza and prevent further genocide of innocent civilians.

The Prime Minister also highlighted Iraq’s ongoing efforts to alleviate the suffering of besieged Palestinians and urged the international community to uphold their legal and moral obligations to stop Zionist crimes.
