Russian President Vladimir Putin has called for a resolution to the Kurdish issue within the context of regional changes, stating, " The Europeans have misled the Kurds regarding statehood."

During his annual press conference, Putin emphasized the need to implement the UN treaty on self-determination and territorial integrity.

"Some European officials previously promised the Kurds an independent state, but they have been deceived," Putin remarked.

Putin described the Kurdish issue as "very complicated," stating, "The Kurds are fighters of resistance, and their issue must be addressed within the framework of new regional changes."

Putin emphasized the need to address Turkey's security concerns while ensuring the sovereignty of all nations is upheld.

"We are in contact with all groups that hold influence in Syria," he added.
