U.S. President Donald Trump stated that Iranian nuclear weapons would bring catastrophic consequences to the world.
In an interview with Fox News, Trump emphasized, “(The Iranians) cannot have nuclear weapons, and if they do, everyone will have them, and then everything will turn into a disaster.”
While addressing reporters at the White House, Trump expressed his hope for a peaceful resolution to issues surrounding Iran’s nuclear program, avoiding the need for Israeli military action. “It would be good if the issues with Iran were resolved without the need for an Israeli attack on its military facilities,” he remarked.
Trump refrained from commenting on whether he would support potential Israeli strikes on Iran but reiterated his preference for diplomacy to prevent escalation.
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian previously claimed that Tehran is not pursuing nuclear weapons, as stated in a mid-January interview with NBC News.
