Bafel Jalal Talabani, President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), met with Natalia Pouzyreff, a member of the Defense Committee of the French National Assembly, in Germany.

During the meeting, President Talabani emphasized the importance of continued coordination and collaboration between both sides to unite efforts for peace and stability in the region, ultimately fostering greater prosperity for the country.

He reiterated the PUK's and the Kurdish people's commitment to strengthening their historic relations and deepening cooperation with France, particularly in the economic and diplomatic spheres.

President Talabani also expressed the PUK's deep respect for the French people and government, noting especially the loyalty of Madame Danielle Mitterrand, who stood by and defended Kurdish rights during difficult times in the Kurdish struggle.

He emphasized that the PUK would never forget the friends who have supported them and are grateful for these relationships, seeking to foster further growth in these bonds.

In another part of the discussion, both sides exchanged views on the situation in the Middle East, with particular attention to Syria and the Kurdish issue in Rojava. Bafel Jalal Talabani stressed the importance of protecting the rights of all nations and communities in Syria.

He called for recognition of the sacrifices and struggles of the Kurdish people in Rojava, ensuring their inclusion in the reconstruction of their country. He warned that any attempt to marginalize them from this national goal would harm regional security.
