In 2023, Kermanshah province witnessed a substantial increase in export activities, with a total of seven million 273 thousand tons of goods being exported from its five border gates.

This surge marked a notable 7% rise compared to the previous year, according to Shahram Kahrezi, the director general of transportation and roads of Kermanshah province.

The primary contributor to these exports was the Parvizkhan border gate, which alone accounted for a significant portion by exporting 2 million 787 thousand tons of goods.

Other notable border gates in the province also actively participated in the trade activities: Khosravi border gate with 1 million 855 thousand tons, Sumar with 1 million 686 thousand tons, and Sheikh Sela border gate with 625 thousand tons of goods exported.

The variety of goods exported from Kermanshah province’s border crossings is diverse and includes wood and iron materials, tiles and ceramics, vegetables and fruits, building stones, dairy products, as well as plastic products and disposable containers.

Kermanshah shares a significant border length of 371 kilometers with Iraq and boasts two official border gates along with five border markets. The province’s annual export value surpasses $3 billion, reflecting the region's robust trade activities.

Iran's Deputy Economy Minister and Director General of Border Gates, Mohammad Razvanifar, highlighted the substantial economic collaboration between Iran and 15 countries, resulting in a trade volume amounting to $61 billion solely in 2023.

The trade partnerships of Iran span across various countries, including Iraq, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Armenia, Kuwait, Qatar, UAE, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Oman, Russia, Kazakhstan, and Bahrain, underscoring the broad reach and significance of Iran's trading relationships.
