CEOWORLD magazine has released its 2024 report ranking the world's safest countries, placing Iraq 61st globally out of 100 nations and 7th among Arab countries.

The rankings evaluate various safety dimensions, including protection from violent crimes, terrorism, transportation safety, health measures, and safety for specific groups like women, foreign travelers, migrants, and expatriates.

According to the report, Andorra, a small country in the Pyrenees mountains between Spain and France, was named the safest country in the world with a score of 97.68 points.

Despite its modest population of around 82,000 residents, Andorra attracts over 3.5 million tourists annually, making it the country with the highest number of tourists per capita. The United Arab Emirates followed with 97.13 points, Greenland with 96.98 points, and Liechtenstein with 96.97 points.

In the global index, Iraq scored approximately 82 points out of 100. Within the Arab world, Iraq ranked 7th, following the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Jordan, and Qatar.

The report also highlighted the significant crime problems facing African countries, which have affected their global relations and tourism industry.

Investment flows to African nations declined by $48 billion in 2023 due to high crime rates. Despite Africa's iconic attractions, tourism is hindered by internal conflict, political instability, and crime. Togo was noted for having the highest crime rate in Africa.
