Having a valid passport does double duty: first, it proves our identity and allows us to travel; second, it represents the authority, advantages, and rights that come with it, whether they are actual or imagined.

More opportunities to better our life are available to us when we have a strong passport. Aside from the status they bring, strong passports open doors to the world, letting its owners travel other countries, stay for lengthy periods, and seek out new chances.

Having a passport, though, isn't sufficient. You should apply for a passport that grants you the capacity to travel freely over the globe, as well as financial security, stability, and growth.

Put simply, there is a significant difference between passports.

There may be obstacles to your freedom if your passport is of low quality. That's why it's critical to be able to assess your selections and grasp the significance of adding to your passport portfolio.

Due to its weak passport, Afghanistan is only able to visit 12% of the world's countries.
Visa exemptions are available to 85 percent of the world's countries for holders of top-tier passports, including Japan's. Both economic and political considerations, such as the potential resurgence of the Taliban in 2021, contribute to this disparity.

According to Henley & Partners, the following list starts from the worst to the best.

1. Afghanistan

Afghanistan has held the title of worst passport in the world for quite a while. Terrorism is a persistent problem, and the country's political climate is fraught with instability; as a result, diplomatic relations are weak.

Passport holders from Afghanistan can only travel to a few number of countries without a visa due to limited diplomatic links. Some African and international destinations, such as the Maldives, Palau, Pakistan, and Tuvalu, require a visa upon arrival. Unfortunately, only citizens of Afghanistan with diplomatic passports are able to go to the United States.

2. Syria

Stay away from Syria's passport if you want to avoid armed war and terrorism. The security of the nation is further affected by Syria's closeness to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Iranian, Malaysian, and Haitian passport holders are among six nations that do not require a visa for entry. But Syrian passport holders must need a visa to enter any country in the Americas or Europe. In addition, although it is permissible, the majority of Syrian visitors will not be granted admission to Australia.

3. Iraq

In 2024, having an Iraqi passport is second to having no passport at all due to the constant fear of terrorism.

Unfortunately, the Iraqi passport is becoming increasingly worthless due to a combination of factors, including political unrest, poverty, and complex socioeconomic problems.
Malaysia, Lebanon, Iran, and Zambia are among the few countries that alllow Iraqi National to travel on Arrival Visas or simple paper work to get Visa.

4. Yemen

One factor contributing to Yemen's passport ranking is the War, destruction of the people due to the conflict, which resulted in extensive starvation and civil instability. As a result, connecting flights are rare. Sudan and Malaysia are among the nine countries that do not require a visa for Yemeni citizens. Furthermore, it enables entry to 33 nations through visa-on-arrival.

Yemeni passports are recognized by the EU and the UK, however in order to enter, visitors must first get the necessary visa.

The United States, Canada, and Australia are also destinations with travel restrictions. Because of this, entry to these countries is probably not an option for the majority of tourists.
