KDP Leads in Erbil and Duhok, PUK Dominates Sulaymaniyah in Preliminary Election Results

According to preliminary election results, 36,391 valid votes were registered in Erbil province, with the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) securing a significant lead by obtaining 25,677 votes.

The Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) garnered 3,491 votes, while other parties received smaller shares: the Kurdistan Justice Group secured 728 votes, the Kurdistan Islamic Union 333 votes, the New Generation Movement 2,203 votes, and the Halwest Movement 370 votes.

The People's Front received 298 votes, the Babylon Movement 674, and Muna Qahwachi 1,184 votes.

In Sulaymaniyah province, a total of 43,898 valid votes were recorded, with the PUK emerging as the dominant party, receiving 26,361 votes.

The KDP managed to secure 2,978 votes. Other parties' results included 984 votes for the Kurdistan Justice Group, 736 for the Kurdistan Islamic Union, 3,877 for the New Generation Movement, 1,400 for the Halwest Movement, and 1,184 for the People's Front.

Channel8’s preliminary data from Duhok province showed 23,939 valid votes, where the KDP maintained its stronghold with 19,105 votes, while the PUK secured 1,161 votes.

The Kurdistan Region Coalition obtained 43 votes, the Kurdistan Justice Group 94, the New Generation 849, and the Kurdistan Islamic Union 739 votes. The People's Front received 38 votes, and the Babylon Movement 169.
