Neuralink, founded by Elon Musk, is a company that aims to empower paralyzed people to control digital gadgets with their thoughts.

On Wednesday, the company announced that it has gotten approval to begin its first clinical study in Canada.

The Canadian trial will evaluate the device's safety and early functionality, according to the brain chip firm. The technology allows individuals with quadriplegia, or paralysis of all four limbs, to control external equipment using their thoughts.

The complicated neurosurgery operation will be carried out in the Toronto campus of Canada's University Health Network hospital, according to an additional announcement from the hospital.

A request for comment was not promptly responded to by regulator Health Canada.

Two individuals in the US have already had the gadget implanted by Neuralink. utilizing it to play games and learn how to construct 3D items, the second trial patient has been utilizing the device well, according to the business.
