The Autonomous Administration (AANES) hands over oil from the Deir Ezzor and al-Hasakah fields to the Damascus government, and five thousand barrels per day will be shipped from now on.

The Syrian Interim Government’s official media reported the resumption of crude oil exports from the Deir Ezzor and al-Hasakah fields to the government by tanker truck, after being suspended since the fall of Assad's regime on December 8 last year due to political changes in the country.

According to the statement, the resumption of exports comes after an initial agreement between the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and the Syrian government.

"Dozens of tanker trucks have started transporting oil to the Homs and Banias refineries inside Syria, with more than 5,000 barrels per day expected," a source in the Rmelan oil fields in al-Hasakah said.

Earlier, Syrian Oil Ministry spokesman Ahmed Suleiman said an initial contract had been signed to import natural gas from the Autonomous Administration, which is 500,000 cubic meters per day.

The Autonomous Administration has previously sent crude oil from its oil fields to the Syrian government, but the export process was suspended since the end of Bashar al-Assad's rule.
