The Kurdistan Region Tourism Board has directed that all tourist centers remain open during the holidays to accommodate the expected influx of visitors.

Speaking to Channel8, Board spokesman Ibrahim Abdulmajid stated that the Kurdistan Region has the capacity to host 100,000 tourists per night.

He highlighted the presence of 3,100 tourism destinations, bases, and companies across the region, including approximately 1,000 restaurants, 480 hotels, 280 motels, and over 500 tourism companies.

Over the past five years, $7.509 billion has been invested in Kurdistan's tourism sector, Abdulmajid noted. In 2024 alone, 28 major tourism projects worth $322 million have been implemented, further strengthening the region’s tourism infrastructure.
