Qualcomm to Launch Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 2 and New Products at September 2025 Summit
Qualcomm has announced that its highly anticipated annual event, Snapdragon Summit 2025, will take place earlier than usual this year—from September 23 to 25—where the company is expected to unveil the second-generation Snapdragon 8 Elite processor along with other new technologies.
The announcement was made during Qualcomm’s presentation at Computex 2025 on Monday. According to a report from 9to5Google, this year’s summit will be held nearly a month ahead of last year’s event, which took place on October 21.
The new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 2 is anticipated to be the centerpiece of the summit, signaling Qualcomm’s continued push into high-performance mobile and AI-focused processing.
In addition to the flagship processor, Qualcomm is expected to reveal a new generation of ARM-based chips for Windows laptops, potentially optimized for devices similar to Microsoft’s Surface series. These launches are part of Qualcomm's broader strategy to strengthen its presence in AI, mobile computing, and data center markets.
Qualcomm also confirmed ongoing development of data center processors that will be capable of connecting to NVIDIA GPUs, further expanding its role in artificial intelligence infrastructure.
While an official release date for smartphones powered by the new Snapdragon 8 Elite processor has not been confirmed, industry watchers expect brands such as OnePlus, Xiaomi, and Motorola to announce devices soon after the summit. These companies have historically been among the first to adopt Qualcomm’s latest chipsets.
However, some uncertainty remains over the release timeline. Xiaomi, which is currently developing its own chips, may delay adoption, and Samsung is unlikely to integrate the new Snapdragon 8 Elite until early 2026.
The September launch positions Qualcomm to shape the next wave of mobile and AI devices ahead of the competitive fall product cycle.
