Defense Minister Aziz Nasirzadeh said on Wednesday that if conflict breaks out, the U.S. “must leave the region,” as all its bases are within Iran’s range, adding, “We will target all of them in the host countries regardless.”

Speaking to reporters after a cabinet meeting, Nasirzadeh said that “good progress” has been made in defense affairs and that Iran’s operational forces are “fully equipped.” He highlighted Tehran’s latest achievement, the successful testing of a missile carrying a two-ton warhead, which produced “excellent results.”

Nasirzadeh also expressed hope for a successful outcome in talks with the U.S. but warned, “If an armed conflict is imposed on us, the enemy's losses will definitely be higher."

The minister’s remarks come amid persistent warnings from Washington about the possibility of a military option if nuclear negotiations fail. One key point of contention remains uranium enrichment.

On Monday, U.S. President Donald Trump warned that failure to reach a nuclear agreement would have “very, very dire” consequences. He also announced a U.S. meeting with Iran scheduled for Thursday, stating that Tehran’s demands for a nuclear deal remain “not acceptable.”

Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei confirmed that a sixth round of nuclear talks with Washington is planned for next Sunday in Oman.
