According to information obtained by Channel8, the Kurdistan Regional Government and the federal government in Baghdad are close to finalizing an agreement on oil exports.

The deal is expected to include provisions on revenue sharing and banking mechanisms for public sector salaries in the Kurdistan Region.

A draft agreement is currently being prepared, and the Iraqi Council of Ministers is scheduled to vote on Tuesday to approve the transfer of salaries to the Region.

Further details are expected following the cabinet session, which may mark a significant breakthrough in long-standing disputes over budget allocations and energy policy.
