The Iraqi Council of Ministers is scheduled to hold its regular session on Tuesday; however, the meeting will not include any discussion of the draft agreement under negotiation between the federal government and the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), according to a senior government source speaking to Channel8.

The source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, confirmed:

“The official agenda for Tuesday’s Cabinet session has been distributed to all ministers, and it contains no reference to the draft agreement currently being discussed with the Kurdistan Region.”

“According to my communications with members of both delegations, there has been no meaningful progress in the ongoing negotiations in Baghdad,” the official said. “As of now, no agreement has been finalized.”

This statement comes in contrast to earlier reports suggesting that a proposed framework agreement—reportedly addressing oil and non-oil revenues would be presented to the federal Cabinet for approval this week.

However, Channel8 has confirmed through its source that the draft remains under negotiation and is not slated for review in Tuesday’s session.
