The Iraqi Ministry of Health announced it has successfully treated and rehabilitated 7,260 individuals struggling with drug addiction over the past two and a half years.
The ministry also revealed it has destroyed approximately 2,614 kilograms of various narcotics as part of ongoing efforts to combat drug abuse in the country.
To meet the growing demand for treatment, the ministry has expanded its rehabilitation capacity by increasing the number of available beds from 500 to 850 across its facilities.
These measures are part of Iraq’s broader strategy to address the rising challenges of drug use and support long-term recovery and reintegration into society.
