The Anfal Monument Directorate in Chamchamal has urged relatives of Anfal victims and prisoners held at Nugra Salman Prison to visit the directorate to fill out complaint forms against Ajaj al-Tikriti, also known as “Hajaj Nugra Salman.” This call follows an announcement by the Office of the First Lady of Iraq designating several locations in Sulaymaniyah Governorate to receive complaints.

The directorate stated in an official letter that the complaint filing process began yesterday and will continue until August 9 this year. Visitors are requested to bring the necessary legal documents when submitting their statements.

Relatives of Anfal victims began submitting complaints in Chamchamal yesterday as part of the ongoing process to document crimes and seek justice.

Earlier, the Office of Shanaz Ibrahim Ahmed, First Lady of Iraq, designated three locations to receive statements: the Amna Suraka Museum in Sulaymaniyah, the General Directorate of Martyrs of Garmian in Kalar, and the Anfal Monument Directorate in Chamchamal.

These designated sites aim to ease the burden on complainants by deploying specialized teams to collect evidence and witness testimonies. The collected information will be prepared for legal proceedings.

Ajaj al-Tikriti was arrested on July 31 by the Iraqi Intelligence Service; he was involved in the killing and torture of Anfal victims at Nugra Salman Prison during the Baath regime’s genocide against the Kurds.
