The Iraqi Electoral Commission (IHEC) has announced that the voting process for the upcoming parliamentary elections will not be conducted outside the country.

However, any Iraqi refugee who possesses a voting card will be allowed to return and cast their vote within Iraq.

No Ballot Boxes Abroad
Jumana al-Ghalai, spokesperson for the Iraqi Electoral Commission, stated to Channel8 that, similar to the previous parliamentary session, ballot boxes will not be placed outside the country. Voting will be restricted to within Iraq. Nonetheless, Iraqi refugees who hold valid voting cards can return and vote in their respective provinces.

Second Parliamentary Session: Voting Only Inside Iraq
This marks the second session in which the voting process for Iraq’s Council of Representatives will be limited to within the country. The Commission has made preparations exclusively for domestic voting.

Election Date Set
The sixth parliamentary elections in Iraq are scheduled to take place on November 11, 2025.
