Russia Pledges to Continue Military Operation in Ukraine Until Objectives Are Met

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov affirmed that Russia will continue its special military operation until its goals in Ukraine are met.

During a briefing, Peskov said Russia will proceed with its aims and protect its interests “one way or another.”

He also noted that Moscow is prepared for peaceful resolution.

Peskov Praises U.S. Envoy’s Role in Mediation Efforts

On the mediating role of U.S. Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff, he emphasizes that they are “well acquainted” with him. "He's effective, and he's proven his worth in the Middle East.”

Peskov expressed hope that “his talents will further contribute to our work in this area, in Ukraine.”

Moscow Expresses Concern Over U.S. Long-Range Missiles

The spokesman’s statement comes as Moscow’s concern over Tomahawk and long-range missiles that would be provided by the U.S. emerged in recent days. Peskov stressed earlier that they have “extreme concern” over the Tomahawks. 

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that he spoke about defense capabilities with U.S. President Donald Trump, adding Kyiv is working closely with Washington to boost Ukraine’s all-around defense capabilities, “primarily Patriots and other systems, as well as our active operations and long-range capabilities.”

Zelensky to Meet Trump in Washington

In the meantime, Zelensky announced that he will visit the United States to meet Trump on Friday. "I believe we will discuss a series of steps that I intend to propose," he said.
