Iraq Signs Major Development Agreement with HKN Energy for Hamrin Oil Field Expansion
The Iraqi state-run North Oil Company and HKN Energy have reached an agreement to develop the Hamrin oil field.
Amer Khalil Ahmed, Director-General of the North Oil Company, announced that the meeting with HKN Energy focused on the Hamrin oil field and resulted in the finalization of the development agreement for the field.
Ahmed emphasized that the Iraqi government is committed to increasing oil production, and the agreement aligns with this strategic objective.
HKN Energy Highlights Tech Innovation and Government Support
HKN Energy highlighted that the meeting represents a significant step toward developing Iraqi oil fields using the latest equipment and technology.
The company stated that the project is part of the Iraqi government's support plan to develop oil fields and reduce gas wastage.
The Iraqi government has signed several contracts with foreign energy companies to develop oil fields, most notably HKN Energy and British oil company BP.
