Gulf Keystone Halts Oil Production in Kurdistan Amid Security Concerns

Gulf Keystone, operating in the Shaikan field in the Kurdistan Region, announced a temporary suspension of oil production as a precautionary measure to protect its employees.

The company emphasized that the halt was solely for safety reasons, and no damage has been inflicted on its field or facilities. It also stated that it is closely monitoring the situation in the area.

Regional Turmoil and Attacks in Erbil
Following Saturday’s strikes on Iran, retaliatory attacks targeted coalition bases at Erbil Airport and the U.S. Consulate. Most of these attacks were intercepted. Meanwhile, armed groups affiliated with “Iraqi Resistance” declared that U.S. positions in the Kurdistan Region are their targets.

Dana Gas Also Suspends Operations
Earlier, on Saturday, Dana Gas likewise suspended gas production at the Khor Mor field, citing the same safety concerns. This decision came after escalating security tensions in the region and rising hostilities between Iran and the United States.
