The Reconstruction and Development Coalition has issued a statement in response to factions from the National Accord and the Sumariyoun Movement.

Concerns Raised by the Sudani Coalition

The Sudani Coalition stated that some parties involved in forming the government received more ministries than their size warranted, while their coalition did not receive what it considers its fair share.

Coalition Says It Was Denied Its Entitled Share

The Reconstruction and Development Coalition bloc in the Iraqi Council of Representatives said that negotiations over government formation revealed a clear imbalance in the distribution of positions, with some factions receiving posts disproportionate to their parliamentary and popular weight.

Although the coalition was entitled to a share based on its electoral standing, it did not receive it. However, out of a sense of national responsibility and commitment to state stability, it did not obstruct the completion of the government formation.

Shift in Positions Following Confidence Vote

It was announced that, following political concessions made during the government confidence vote, some members of the bloc publicly changed their stance toward certain cabinet members.

This shift reflects a political and parliamentary conviction and a sense of responsibility regarding the government’s image and internal balance.

The National Accord reaffirmed that its partners obtained positions within the Ministry of Agriculture in line with their political weight of 11 parliamentary seats within the broader framework of the Reconstruction and Development Coalition.

Representation of the Sumariyoun Movement

The Reconstruction and Development Coalition also emphasized its commitment to safeguarding the rights of its partners in the Sumariyoun Movement, which holds five parliamentary seats within the coalition’s political and parliamentary framework.
