Iraqi PM Met with the KRG Delegation and Representatives of Oil Companies
Iraqi Prime Minister Ali Faleh al-Zaidi met on Wednesday with a delegation from the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), alongside representatives of several international oil companies operating in the Kurdistan Region.
The meeting, attended by senior Iraqi officials, focused on energy operations, production challenges, and the impact of recent regional developments.
Briefing on Oil Sector Conditions
According to the Media Office of the Prime Minister, during the discussions, al-Zaidi received a detailed briefing on the operational conditions of oil companies in light of recent regional developments resulting from the ongoing war.
The briefing also included a comprehensive overview of plans aimed at resuming and expanding oil production activities as soon as possible.
Directives on Production and Operations
Al-Zaidi instructed that all requirements be provided to ensure the continued operation of oil companies working in the Kurdistan Region.
He stressed that Iraq had incurred significant losses due to disruptions in oil exports through the Strait of Hormuz, emphasizing the need to intensify efforts to compensate for these losses by addressing barriers to increased production.
Call to Resume Activities
Al-Zaidi further directed oil companies operating in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq to resume their activities starting tomorrow.
He highlighted the importance of coordinated efforts between all parties to create a suitable operating environment and provide the essential requirements needed to support uninterrupted production.
