The Kurdish Book Fair kicked off in Erbil on Thursday morning, featuring over one hundred publishing houses and hundreds of new titles.

The event officially opened at ten o'clock in the morning and is scheduled to run until June 10 to welcome visitors.

100+ Publishers Gather in Erbil for All-Kurdish Book Fair

The director of the Erbil-based Ashti Cultural Center announced that more than 100 publishing houses from all parts of Kurdistan are participating in the exhibition. 

This year's edition features over 800 new titles, all published exclusively in the Kurdish language.

Erbil Launches Alternative Book Fair, Bracing for High Weekend Turnout 

Organizers stated that the current exhibition serves as an alternative event after regional tensions forced the postponement of the Erbil International Book Fair originally planned for last April. 

A high turnout of readers from across the Kurdistan Region is anticipated starting tomorrow.
