Bafel Jalal Talabani, President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), received Andrew Bizley, British Consul General to the Kurdistan Region, at the presidential residence in Dabashan, Sulaymaniyah.

During the meeting, both sides discussed the latest political, security, and economic developments across the region, stressing the importance of pursuing peaceful solutions to ongoing issues.

KRG Formation and Governance Priorities

On the ongoing negotiations to form the next Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), Talabani stated that the PUK’s position reflects public demands for improved governance and the establishment of a fair and effective government capable of serving all citizens without discrimination.

He emphasized that the party’s approach is based on true balance, partnership, and mutual inclusivity.
