Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu affirmed that Israel will prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons throughout his tenure, noting that he is in complete alignment on the matter with U.S. President Donald Trump.

Netanyahu stated on Friday that, “As long as I am the Prime Minister of Israel – Iran will not have nuclear weapons.”

“President Trump and I are in full agreement on this issue,” he said.

He asserted that he has led the international effort against Iran's nuclear development for over three decades, claiming that without these actions, Iran would have already acquired atomic weapons capable of destroying Israel.

“Iran is working to destroy the Jewish state, and I am dedicating my life to preventing them from doing so,” he emphasized, adding that, “As long as I am the Prime Minister of Israel, this will not happen."

Published Draft Memo Proposes 60-Day Ceasefire Window

Netanyahu’s statement comes amid escalating tensions in recent days and threats of a collapse to the ceasefire that has been in place since early April.

Trump announced yesterday that he halted planned military strikes on Iran, noting that diplomatic talks have advanced to the highest levels of Tehran's leadership.

He said the deal's final details have been approved by all involved nations, including the U.S., Israel, and key regional partners.

Several media outlets on Friday published a reported 14-point draft memorandum of understanding between Washington and Tehran aimed at freezing hostilities.

The leaked framework proposes a 60-day ceasefire window to negotiate permanent terms regarding Tehran's nuclear program and the lifting of U.S. economic sanctions.

While Trump highlighted the agreement is nearing its final shape for a signing ceremony in Europe, Iranian officials cautioned that a definitive conclusion has not yet been reached.

Axios Details Nuclear Terms and Lebanon Truce Expansion in Draft MOU

Meanwhile, Axios reported that the MOU extends the ceasefire to Lebanon for 60 days to allow for nuclear negotiations, though immediate action on Iran's uranium stockpile depends on a subsequent accord.

The outlet further said that under the MOU, Iran would commit to never acquiring a nuclear weapon, with a senior U.S. official noting that one option involves down-blending its highly enriched uranium domestically under UN supervision.
